I began as a child…

Doug was about 10 years old when he started helping his Dad in the family garage darkroom.

“I remember the close intimacy I felt while I helped helped Dad develop our family photos. Precious alone time spent with my father. And now I am once again seeing the world as through a child’s eye. Beautiful, mysterious and adventurous!”

As Doug grew older, started a family and career as a firefighter, he turned away from photography as a passion. Then, in 2010 Doug once again found purpose in his photography, quickly progressing from cell phone and point and shoot cameras to winning photo contests and selling out at fairs and art shows.

He hasn’t looked back since. Doug’s unique vision of the natural world around us is both compelling and moving, and he has been featured in the Huffington Post as well as two books on photographic techniques. His newest photographic direction is video blogging. Be sure to check out the link here to get to know Doug in person as well as experience his wit and wisdom.
